@britvulcan it never existed? Wrt stocks, it's hypothetical value based on a speculated sale that never took place before the value declined.

@lawremipsum it is just really weird that people view these as equivalent and as also equivalent to billionaires "losing money" to taxes. Like that any actual *PAYING FOR YOUR INPUTS THAT RESULT IN WEALTH* is a bad "loss".
