Families with non-typical (ND?) children who can't do typical average American things must have it rough.
Families with non-typical (ND?) children who can't do different-than-average things (hiking, camping, athletic stuff) when the family is surrounded by people who do those things...well, that's pretty rough too.
This isn't trying to compare the experience, but I can only speak from experience of one group.
