some may blame trump for the closing of the GM plant in ohio ( https://www.theguardian.com/business/2019/aug/23/general-motors-factory-ohio-lordstown) but i would like to also credit myself and my fellow millenial-americans for abstaining from buying cars and reversing the bad trends of boomers. sry your job making bad stuff got cancelled, i hope you find work at a bus-making place!
@generica They're a bit of a pain to wash, so make sure it comes apart easy. They do make grating heaps of potatoes and stuff easier.

Ableism in Environmental Movements Show more
Hearing consistently about how many resources disabled people ‘take up’ compared to more abled folks scares the living fuck out of me because this is how easy ecofacism can take hold
“Well I’m sorry, you’re too poor to save” and “Well I’m sorry, if we needed to save you we’d have to extract more resources or run more factories and kill the environment a bit more” are practically unable to be divorced in my head and it makes me physically fucking ILL

The death rates caused by flu in these camps is already 9 times the death rates caused by flu in the rest of the USA.
And since our healthcare system is the worst in the world outside of the countries we're busy destroying, that's really saying something.
Nine times some of the highest mortality rates in the world is intentional. There is no excuse and heads need to start rolling now or else we're complicit in this genocide.

MN local pol - rental housing ordinance Show more
Any one else in Minneapolis get an email from their landlord about 'a bbq to discuss the new rental ordinance?' This is apparently a thing. What is your take on the ordinance and why are landlords trying to bribe renters with promises of free bbq. Any renters orgs putting up a counter strategy? Landlord gave us one day notice.
I love the tiny/small house movement, sustainable living is mandatory for a livable planet. What it’s NOT tho is a novel life choice for eccentric yuppies or a pathway for real estate Kings to shove us in dimly lit 8x9 cells with 6 other ppl and a communal bathroom. Humans still need a certain amount of Individual space and privacy to maintain their physical and psychological health. And we have MORE than enough resources to provide every man woman & child with that space.
Cualli teotlac, mimichtin!🐠 Hello and welcome again to another thread about The Aztec Empire! I really should come up with a name for this series 🤔 Any suggestions? #StarTalk
Today we will be discussing a topic often brought up in media with about 0% understanding of the source or lore: The fierce and mighty gods and goddesses of the Mexica Pantheon

@t54r4n1 Wow, i didn't know this. I mean I've heard of fighting among coops in the 70's from friends who worked in the coop scene at the time, but I never really new the details. I moved here from Colorado in the late 90's.
you think mastodon drama is bad infighting amongst leftists?? try https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minnesota_Food_Cooperative_Wars
