Klobuchar/Beto 2020: Tax-advantage savings accounts for immigration legal defense costs
We have a friend who lives in apartments near the Menards in Fridley. She just had back surgery 4–6 months ago She does not own a car; takes the bus to work every day.
The only way for her to get to her bus stop is to walk downhill on the street (there are NO sidewalks) to Central/65. For several days now this street basically been an inclined skating rink.
Today I got up 1.5hrs early and drove her to her work downtown so she wouldn’t end up in the hospital…

oh hey this is late but the LA teacher's strike won:
- a mandatory cap on class sizes at every grade level
- hiring full time nurses at every school
- a librarian hired at every middle and high school by next year
- 50% reduction in frequency of standardized test assessments
- a hard cap on number of charter schools
- 6 percent pay raise
this contract was ratified by an overwhelming majority of the union. these changes will benefit not only the teachers, but every student in the city public school system.

Imagine if a month ago Trump, having changed his mind at the last minute to demand wall funding, had said “I’ll sign a bill to keep things running through February without wall money, but we need to beyond that we need a deal for a wall.” He’d have everything he has now, without the pointless massive dent in the economy (and his approval ratings).

One thing while watching the Brexit vote over my lunch break, I am supremely jealous of the parliamentary system used by every other developed democracy out there.
None of this "let's elect only part of the government at a time" bullshit. None of this divided government bullshit. If the government couldn't pass a budget? ELECTIONS BITCH. For the WHOLE GOVERNMENT. You hold elections, the winning coalition takes charge, results happen, and there is no question who to hold accountable.
