Our grandkids will thank us for giving them extra time to deal with rising seas, and we get to maybe save some species from extinction, BUT ONLY IF WE ACT.

We CAN make our kids and grandkids lives less horrible BUT ONLY IF WE ACT.

It will be much easier to act sooner rather than later.

Acting means: reducing emissions by 45% by 2030 and eliminating them by 2050.

(Btw shit like hoping that Elon Musk blocks out the sun isn't useful.)

To reach these goals MEANS: RAPID and FAR-REACHING... 2/x

I bike in part BECAUSE of the extra time involved, not despite it. It’s a recovering of time and life. It’s an oppressive and commercial culture that encourages us to rush and hurry and stress out about getting somewhere fast, usually to our jobs or to be consumers.

Going to a favorite webcomic with a massive back catalog and hitting "random" for six hours > :birdsite:

I was talking with a friend from law school last night and he's three years younger than me but swear to God he looks at least 10 years older?

I guess I *could* have a distorted idea of how old I look (dare I solicit people to guess my age?) but I think it's more likely that a decade of parenting and stressful work ages you faster.
