Anyway, this confirms my suspicion that at best mid-tier presidential candidates would accept an invitation to this thing.

Can't sleep so here's my Thursday/Friday schedule.

Friday has a Dem candidate, Saturday has TWO Republicans (?!).

Don't ask what happens at the Plenary sessions. Besides all of us getting back together in the big room, idk.

My group appears to have decent racial diversity. A surprising number of public servants though? Two or three professed, plus me, and maybe one would count the guy in the state patrol branded sweatshirt.

He surprised me by agreeing with me about the capital gains tax so not as conservative as I initially guessed.

Things I forgot: lipstick (extreme :( trying not to let it upset me)
My toothbrush.

Stay tuned for more probably.

Start taking odds on what time I say "we live in a society" tomorrow.

Every small group session is audio recorded. That's a lot of audio. How will it be used? It's not clear. I think I'll ask tomorrow.

It remains to be seen if or when he might intervene to, say, encourage people who haven't spoken to speak. Nobody really fillibustered in my small group, but I'd say a large minorty of the group didn't say anything.

Which is okay, they don't have to and there will be more opportunities. I just don't want it to be dominated by the loud or loquacious.

Okay so..... I'm still processing but here's what I got so far.

500 strangers, picked to live in a resort, work together and have their lives taped, to find out what happens when people are forced to be civil while they talk about the country's biggest problems.

My moderator says he's not there to talk; his role still isn't totally apparent. He had us introduce ourselves, and then introduced a topic by saying "what do you think about taxes and the economy?"

Just finished our first small group session. Laid down my marker for increasing the capital gains tax right out of the gate.

Okay he narrated all five of these videos.

He narrated the briefing video on the economy and taxes for us.

Ray Suarez is now speaking about how great we are.

Internet in this specific part of this massive resort isn't great... I will go to another part of it after I get my picture taken.

Fly across the country and get your picture taken for the NYT.

@lawremipsum It must be understood that neither by word nor deed had I given Fortunato cause to doubt my good will. I continued, as was my wont, to smile in his face, and he did not perceive that my smile now was at the thought of his immolation.

( I have to get this out of my system so I don't say it to people's faces)
