In other news I snuck in and snuck out of my workplace only being seen by the new receptionist (first time we've met) and my best work friend and former consigliere (who is now my replacement).
Cleaned out my office in a flash, moved my knick knacks to the new office up the block, and treated the poor person taking my job to a congratulation/consolation lunch. They deserve her less than I did, and I didn't deserve her!
All in all, a perfect escape.
Next week: public hearing for the Downtown Improvement District renewal. Have thoughts about the city subsidizing operations of the Downtown Council? (the DID contract pays a good chunk of their salaries) Or how they can make downtown welcoming?
Like, I assume there is a high degree in subverting what a judge looks like in hiring me, and hopefully plenty more to come in the future.
has anyone ever made the observation that the Japanese television programme Neon Genesis Evangelion is fucked up

A coda to the Guardian's shameful bigotry - the UK editors didn't /just/ cut that segment of the interview, but also spiked an entire series of trans articles - again from the US staff - "Gender Now":
@lawremipsum Great interview that I might not have read if I hadn't heard they censored it.
