PodRide enclosed e-trike fundraising Show more
@stelepami oh, thanks for showing me this! It's interesting, but I'm very sceptical if there actually is enough of an audience for that. it's pretty hard to reinvent the bicycle. It's stayed in its current form for the reason that it's good. I have seen so many "bicycle revolution vehicles" and none of them caught on.
boosting anyway!
@distel
Yeah, I can only hope that it's something folks will want as we work to shift the world's urban areas away from car dependence, which we must do for the earth's sake.
It appeals to me because it is more weather proof and visible to traffic than a cargo bike that might haul as much.
@stelepami I have no idea if it will appeal to motorists, so they make the switch to a podride.
Yeah, we must shift over, but I believe that in order to do that, we must also make cities cycling friendly and provide better public transport.
there are lots of people who would want to ride a bike, but in germany, you're not encouraged, you're punished for being eco-friendly. and you risk your life, which is so unneccessary, as cycling is pretty safe in itself..
@stelepami I remember a few weeks ago in denmark, I was waiting at a red light. and i put my foot down on a footrest the city had built for cyclists, and on the footrest they had written: "thank you for your contribution to your own health and a better environment" <3
@distel
I completely agree that safety infrastructure needs to happen in order for a massive shift to take place. I've never been to Denmark but I hear that it's a cycling haven, perhaps that's where to look for inspiration.
@stelepami it totally is! (I only experienced it as a tourist, though) and you even get tax advantages for cycling to work.
@distel, would you boost that one? Only if you support it, but I thought it might be something you and your friends would be interested in and you're in Europe, while most folks I know on here are American or Canadian and can't contribute.
