I am concerned every time I see kids playing on the playground equipment at the two parks closest to me. I see kids there every day.
They're obviously not staying apart from each other. The equipment doesn't get cleaned. The kids are definitely touching their faces.
They may not be getting as seriously sick as the elderly, but that must mean that they're asymptomatic and spreading it everywhere.
Kids get restless. Those in MFH don't have private yards to play in. This all sucks.

@stelepami yeah, the kids thing is going to keep this whole thing blowing up. I was talking to my boss yesterday and he was like "we're not stopping our kids from playing with neighbor kids," and one of my employees has to choose between sending her kid to daycare or keeping the kid at home and depleting her own leave balance.
As long as it's business as usual for kids, we're not serious about managing this at all.

@lawremipsum when I'm walking Izzy down in Kingsfield the kids are playing in their own yards, with adults watching them (saw a kid rollerblading in the street under adult supervision). Up here with more MFH they're at the parks. The adults are even chatting to each other.
It must be terrible trying to parent under these circumstances. For once I'm glad I haven't had a child yet.
@callahad @lawremipsum That's one way of dealing with it. As you probably recall, we don't have fences around city parks here.
@stelepami @lawremipsum yeah, the UK (or maybe just Belfast, given the Troubles?) is *super serious* about fences everywhere.
Took some getting used to, but it's actually super handy for playgrounds: kids can't run directly into the street, etc.
@callahad @lawremipsum I recall being surprised when I visited London because the little parks in the middle of residential streets were actually locked away from the plebs.
@stelepami @lawremipsum The city council over here just straight up closed and padlocked all the parks, so that's one way to solve it. ☹️
