ooh, time for some #30daysofbiking catch up. day 18: renewed my nice ride membership, took a couple rides in my fancy leather jacket, for fashionableness.
Turning down Portland from 10th st is... always nightmareish. I finally figured out the "intended route" and: it sucks.
the unintended route, that i always do, is slip through traffic to get to the right lane, and make a Regular Human right turn from a goddamn right turn lane.
I guess this time I happened to discover the intended route bc
1) nice rides are not agile &
2) it was kinda rush-hour-y traffic levels
so i was going to take the crosswalk across, having failed at my customary method.
geez i really don't wanna make a 90 degree turn with cars trying to make their right-on-red down portland x_x
afaict, the intended route is that i don't go right on the green light, but that i pull into intersection on green, standing in green box. then, when light cycles, pull an immediate 90 degree turn with the portland traffic in your face.
