Since I've been posting about them, here's a feature where Gov Dayton says (ok, writes) a little more about his endorsements. Nothing terribly surprising, but worth noting.

I've had to dig to find video of Walz that I like, that makes me feel confident about his campaign. Hopefully that will change, regardless of who I end up supporting. Whoever wins the primary will have to build enthusiasm among supporters of whoever doesn't. 2/2

FWIW (1/100 of 1¢): I'm undecided, after a few days in "Lean Murphy" territory.

One small observation: I'm seeing Murphy supporters insist that the urban-rural divide is a myth. On the other hand, I've watched an interview or two with Walz where he speaks--with what strikes me as appropriate thoughtfulness--about differences in circumstances and needs between rural and urban areas. Small sample size, but the Walz take rings truer to me. 1/2

Perhaps the $64 trillion question is: how many new DFL voters are out there to be found?

True! That doesn't mean that they are meaningless.
At this point, I'm a little leery of using the past as too much of a guide, as we live in unprecedented times.

My best guess is: In light of this weekend's convention, Keith senses that there's change in the air, that this is an all-or-nothing year, and he's going all in on a strategy of bringing in a wave of new voters for a DFL slate.

Trying to make sense of the seismic shift that may or may not take place today. It feels like things have been evolving in real time ever since last Saturday's DFL governor endorsing convention.

Frustrated by my lack of a crystal ball to tell me how this will all shake out. More seriously, I'm frustrated at my own uncertainty at the moment.

i'd like to think it's dayton's personal preference and that that Says Something, but i'm not seeing many people react that way

i have yet to see much reaction to dayton's endorsement of murphy. is it merely the thing a dfl governor does, endorsing whoever the party endorses?

For what vanishingly little it's worth*: I've moved from "lean Walz" to undecided for governor. I wonder whether today's convention provided a--frankly unflattering--glimpse of how Walz (1) has campaigned so far and (2) reacts to events in real time. Also, I can't say I feel impressed by his campaign webpage or social media presence.

TBH I have my doubts about the quote-unquote electability of *both* Walz and Murphy, for different reasons.
